With the Turing Scheme website now live, we are sure that you have many questions about the scheme. Here are three key elements you should know before applying.

1. Learners can gain international experience

Funding is open to UK organisations across higher education, further education, vocational education and training and schools. It’s a great opportunity to provide your learners with life-changing opportunities to study or work abroad.

Placements will enrich their learning in a range of ways, including developing new skills, gaining vital international experience, boosting their employability, and confidence, and much more.

2. Placements will take place across the world

Turing Scheme participants will be able to study or work across the globe. By funding mobilities around the world, the programme will support international engagement by enhancing existing partnerships and encouraging organisations to forge new relationships.

As well as this, placements will offer participants the unique opportunity to gain the skills that employers are looking for. Running a Turing Scheme project will put your organisation in the best position to bridge the gap between education and work, enabling you to support your learners as they make the transition into employment.

3. Widening access is key

One of the programme’s main focuses is social mobility. By ensuring all eligible participants have equal access to the Turing Scheme, the programme will provide placements for pupils, students and learners from all backgrounds.

From targeted geographical promotion to supporting with travel-related costs, you can find out more about how we are supporting the government’s levelling up agenda on the widening access page
