If your organisation submitted an application for Turing Scheme funding, you may be wondering what will happen next, and, if you are successful, when you can expect to find out.
Read on to discover the next steps and when results for applicants will be issued.
Application assessment process
Once the funding deadline has passed, applicants receive an acknowledgement email from the Delivery Partner. However, if this email hasn’t appeared in your inbox within four weeks of the deadline, then make sure you contact our team to check your application has been received successfully.
Applications then go into an assessment process, where they are checked against the criteria set out in the programme guide. Bids first go under a formal eligibility and exclusion check which verifies that the project respects Turing Scheme rules.
They are then assessed on how well the project reflects the key principles of the Turing Scheme, which include:
- international engagement
- widening participation
- driving positive impact and value for money
- design and implementation
Financial capacity checks
As part of the assessment process, applications will also be checked in terms of whether organisations are sufficiently financially capable to receive funding for their project.
During these checks, organisations may be asked to submit documentation such as annual reports or financial statements.
In the final step of the assessment process, a Project Assessment Board will determine the final list of projects per sector that will receive Turing Scheme funding. This board consists of representatives from the Department for Education and devolved administrations.
When will results be issued?
Application results will be issued to applicants from all sectors between July and August 2021. If you receive an email from the Delivery Partner that notifies you that your bid has been successful, the contracting process will commence.
Payments will be made to successful organisations at the anticipated points of expenditure which were set out as part of the application process.
Don’t forget you can always contact the Delivery Partner for any queries relating to after applying. We wish you good luck on your Turing Scheme application!
